now i know...

Now i know that doing Skin Prick Test(SPT) is little bit painful...

So pity to my respondents for the research..i`m so sory!!!!

I had done data collection for many weeks n seen the patients doing their SPT,but i never do it.

Yesterday may be the last session for me to do data collection wif master student.

I take this opportunity to do my Skin Prick Test.

Yeah...All the results for allergens sensitivity are negative..

My histamine width size is 6mm,,

and another allergens width size is 0 n 1 mm,,B.tropicalis is 3 mm..

So,I really free from allergy diseases..

"Abah, kak boleh make udang,ketam...hahaha".

Abah is the first person i want to tell about my SPT result..

Abah always worried about me when i want to eat seafood..

He said that we will get itchiness when eating seafood..

So,he always control us eating this kind of food..

but now,,i know that i`m not the seafood allergic person..

Insyallah...i can eat it without any problem.

But,thanx Abah,,becoz always remind me...i know u dont want me to face any difficulties..

Skin Prick Test

Allergy test used to identify allergens responsible for triggering symptoms in allergic diseases.

Benefits Of SPT

• diagnostic test for for patients with dermatitis,hay fever,food allergy,latex allergy,drug allergy and venom allergy.
• guide the management of patients with asthma and hay fever

Technique of SPT

Usually,it is performed in the inner forearm and a numbers of allergens can be tested.

• Clean arm with soap and water or alcohol
• The forearm is coded with a skin marker pen corresponding to the number of allergens being tested. Marks should be at least 2cm apart.
• A drop of allergen solution is placed beside each mark
• A small prick through the drop is made to the skin using a sterile prick lancet. A new lancet must be used for each allergen tested.
• Excess allergen solution is dabbed off with a tissue
• Observe skin reactions – if a reaction occurs it should do so within 20-30 minutes
